剧情简介：
穷书生赵伟文与邻居程素华青梅竹马，共订白头。文上京赴考，高中状元，圣上为媒，要他娶陈尚书之女月华。榜眼杜文通对月痴心一片，求文不要夺爱。文实不愿娶月，奈何圣旨难违，遂于成亲当日佯装疯癫，尚书惟有暂延婚事。
文音讯全无，素偕养父寿伯上京寻文，获悉文将成尚书女婿，暗中随陈府老仆进府见文，文誓言永不负爱。惟素与月相貌酷肖，文一时难辨，闹出不少误会。原来二人是自幼失散的孪生姊妹。最后，骨肉团聚，虽月与素皆不是尚书大人所出，但夫人把两人等同亲生，共享荣华。文与素喜成鸾凤，通与月亦共结佳偶。
